Got an idea from Dan Wallace (Twitter handle: @Ideafood) to write a manifesto, so here is a draft of my HR manifesto.
- Do what’s best for the organization, not just HR
- Behave ethically and courageously.
- The development of leadership and business acumen are worthy pursuits.
- Be a consultant, and offer skilled, detailed advice.
- Apply analytics, process, and problem-solving rigor in addition to intuition.
- Strive for organizational and social good whenever possible.
- Understand how your business creates value.
- Develop exceptional communication and emotional intelligence competencies.
- Foster committment and trust between HR, management, and employees.
- Be a business focused professional with people acumen.
